DSI is a not-for-profit. The mission is funded through three commitments.

From the day you join, you will receive the Commercial Use Licence (CUL) for the current 2026 release of SMB1001 valued at $995 + tax as an early-joiner bonus; your commercial delivery rights begin immediately! This release will be current or all organizations certifying to the 2026 release throughout 2027. From 1 January 2027 all TSS’s servicing more than three (3) clients will be required to hold a Commercial Use Licence (CUL).

From 1 January 2027
Any TSS managing SMB1001 services for four or more client organizations must hold a current Commercial Use Licence. The licence is available standalone from US$500 per year, the lowest-cost route to compliance, and it is included in both the Authorized Partner Programme and Mission Membership. If you will hold a credential anyway, the question is what do you want yours to be?

No. It is a commercial membership fee that returns a full suite of business benefits, including the Authorized Partner Programme. In most jurisdictions it is treated as an ordinary business expense; please confirm with your own adviser.

SMB1001 Unlocked - Free for All will carry the name of one organization: the Founding Legacy Champion that makes the standard free for the world. The position is exclusive, it is open, and it will only ever be held by one organization at a time. If yours has the scale and the conviction, the prospectus explains the rest.
